Geotechnical Interpretive Report for an Earth-banked Lagoon
Minerals and Mining
Our client’s neighbour planned to construct a 3-storey basement close to our clients hotel. Ground Projects acted as geotechnical expert and conducted a critical review of the contractor’s basement design and movement and stability calculations.
This included an in-depth assessment of the ground conditions, proposed basement and construction sequence. Our review, which included our own assessments of ground movement including FEM calculations, resulted in critical modifications of the contractor’s design leading to a more robust approach.
The basement was safely constructed and monitoring showed movements remained within acceptable limits.
