Remediation Validation for Large Residential Development
Ground Projects were appointed to support the development of a large-scale residential development in the North-West in 2019.
Regular site visits were undertaken by Ground Projects to confirm that the cover system was installed in accordance with the Construction Phase Remediation Method Statement and met the requirements of Characteristic Situation 2 / Amber 1 (CIRIA C665).
This included verification of the permeable geotextile separator layer (geomembrane) and confirmation that a suitably thick cover system had been placed across the designated garden areas.
Ground Projects have successfully delivered a thorough validation programme for the long‑running residential development, inspecting and validating over 250 gas membranes and 170 cover systems.
- Gas membrane verification
- Topsoil cover system verification
- Topsoil source verification including lab testing scheduling and reporting
- Material Management Plan (MMP)
- Clear, practical and technical guidance throughout all project stages.
- Timely mobilisation of engineers to site to avoid delay of project program.
- Ensured complete regulatory compliance.
- Proactive identification of issues during inspection to allow efficient remediation.
- Efficient production of reporting to ensure swift handover of completed plots
