Site Condition Report for an Energy from Waste Facility
Ground and Projects were approached to undertake a Site Condition Report (SCR) to support the planning application of a proposed Energy from Waste (EfW) in Perth, Scotland.

The SCR was written in accordance with relevant Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) guidance, such as the Pollution Prevention Control (PPC) Technical Guidance Note on the Content and Scope of Site Reports.
The report involved the collation and interpretation of multiple existing site investigation reports from Phase 1 desk study through to Phase 2 site investigations, establishing an existing baseline on ground conditions and how this may be impacted by the proposed development. Of key consideration, was the proposed storage and use of potentially hazardous substances relating to the operation of the EfW on site.
- Assessment and interpretation of existing Phase 1 and Phase 2 site investigation reports.
- Assessment of substances used in the operation of the EfW.
- Assessment of the hydrogeological regime beneath the site.
- Design of a Conceptual Site Model showing the impact the designed facility will have on the surrounding environment.
- Recommendations for future intrusive site investigations,
- Active engagement with SEPA during the development and creation of the Conceptual Site Model enabled the rapid resolution of issues related to the change of designed containment systems on site.
