Rail and Transport

Across transport, rail and highways, our team brings strong experience in managing ground risk within complex and constrained environments.
Ground Projects provides specialist geotechnical and geo-environmental engineering support to rail and transport infrastructure projects across the UK.

We work across highways and rail environments, supporting clients, contractors, and asset owners to manage ground-related risk in complex and often operational settings and delivering to industry standards such as CD 622. Our experience includes projects within and immediately adjacent to live rail corridors, highways, embankments, cuttings and buried infrastructure.

Within the rail sector, we support schemes delivered under GRIP / PACE and work in accordance with NR/L2/CIV/003, NR/L2/GE/101, and associated Network Rail standards. We provide support at AIP, Detailed Design, and Independent Assurance stages, including Category III (CAT III) checks on complex and safety-critical assets.

Our approach is pragmatic and risk-led — helping to ensure safe construction, minimise disruption to operational transport networks, and protect long-term asset performance.
